Print Merge or Mail Merge

The print merge typically contains two files.

 

The main document contains the standardised text, punctuation, spaces, graphics, and other information that is identical on each version for the merged document.

 

The data file contains information which varies with each version of the merge.

 

Merge fields are used in the main document to indicate where the variable information from the data file is to be inserted in the merge.
