Practice makes perfect – Bandaging workshop

Practice makes perfect- Bandaging Workshop
Why Bandaging?
Bandaging – a fundamental technique. Whether in a hospital, ambulance or simply in a first aid situation, bandaging has always had its place in each setting. There are many different types of bandages, such as the roller bandage, triangular bandage, tube bandage and military trauma bandage, to name a few. All these bandages have one common use, namely that of stopping blood and protecting wounds from infection.
With regards to the latter, special awareness is given to wound sterility in hospitals all over the world. Ultimately one of the ways to avoid wound infection is by practicing good bandaging techniques.
For this reason, the Standing Committee on Medical Education (SCOME) of the Malta Medical Students’ Association (MMSA) organised a Bandaging Workshop for medical students on Tuesday 16th October at Mater Dei Hospital. This dynamic and practical seminar was a great opportunity to acquire the skills for proper bandaging techniques.
