SPRAY PAINTING EXHIBITION IN GOZO
Remarkable artistic works executed by participants attending for the Spray Painting Course at the Wistin Camilleri Gozo Centre for Art and Crafts, are being exhibited in one of the halls within this centre.
This exhibition is being held to project the artistic talents and the standard achieved by students through this recently introduced course.
Mr.George Borg, Director Student Services within the Ministry for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport who inaugurated the exhibition, had positive comments with regards to the exhibits and the level achieved in such a relatively short time during which the course has been running. He also pointed out that this Centre is fully meeting all expectations, not only by offering courses on the concept of Lifelong Learning, but also by conducting Trade Courses for ETC clients and Art and Craft courses aimed for persons with special needs. This enhances the role of this centre within the Gozitan community.
The Spray Painting course, which was introduced last year, is being followed by an encouraging number of participants who enrolled for this course for the second consecutive year. It aims to present each participant with a step-by-step guideline on technical and graphic applications together with spraying procedures and characteristics. This technique may be commercially used in custom automotive paintings as well as for fabric painting.
The Wistin Camilleri Gozo Centre for Art and Crafts, which was inaugurated in February 2008, currently caters for 1060 participants, participating in 59 different courses. This centre aims to build on the potential of each participant thus enhancing individual abilities in order to promote artistic and artisan talents.
Between the 27th and the 29th of March, 2009, the conference hall within the centre will be hosting an International European Lace Conference, which is part of the mobility activities incurred in the project ‘Lace – wealth for the rich, blessing for the poor’ through the Leonardo da Vinci Programme which is part of the European Commission’s Lifelong Learning Programme 2007 – 2013.
