Appeal to form Ghadira Coalition

Zminijietna – Voice of the Left is urging civil society organisations, including NGOs and political parties, to form a united front against the proposed road near Ghadira Bay and the nearby natural reserve which will cause irreversible harm to the ecology of the area.

Zminijietna said that wide coalitions have frequently obtained positive results. An example of this was the victorious Front against the Rabat Golf Course between 1997 and 2004,€   which comprised over 20 environmental, social, cultural and religious€   NGOs, two political parties, farmers’ organisations, MPs from both sides of the house and a local council amongst its members and supporters.

Zminijietna invited all those interested in forming such a coalition against the proposed development of a new road at Ghadira€   to contact the organisation at zminijietna [Email address: zminijietna #AT# yahoo.com - replace #AT# with @ ] in order that a preliminary meeting may be held, the scope being the formation of such a coalition where partners are equal.
