“A nuclear plant in Malta?”

Carmel Cacopardo Alternattiva Demokratika (AD) Spokesman on Sustainable Development and Local Government refers to the Prime Minister⒠¹s visit to Italy carried out last week and to the reports in the Italian Press on this visit.

In particular he refers to the article in the newspaper Il- Sole 24 Ore signed by journalist Federico Rendina entitled “Il Governo rilancia sull⒠¹atomo.

“In this article the author implies that Berlusconi could be thinking of Malta together with Albania and Montenegro as suitable sites for the construction of a nuclear plant. Whilst our party hope that this is pure speculation on the part of the author, we consider that it is necessary for the Prime Minister to confirm or otherwise the said statement.” concluded Carmel Cacopardo.
