AD should consult the people more
Posted by: kaizenlog in Malta, tags: AD should consult the people moreWith reference to the press statement issued on the 13/06/2008 regarding AD’s reaction to Irish Referendum results, I would like to comment as follows:
Yes! The same with the question of illegal immigration independently of their colour and creed. A 27 EU referendum would serve to consolidate the EU into ….an EU! There are quite a few issues requiring a joint voice from each and every one of us and from the EU as a bloc. But alas!
Consider the case of the VAT on the car registration tax. Our PM is Maltese when it suits him (re illegal tax collection according to EU standards) and an EU man when circumstances seem to dictate otherwise. A perfect Dr Jeckyl and Mr Hyde! The question wise people will ask next time round is not whether it will be PN or MLP but:
Who will redeem this country?
Will we still be subjected to a delegated form of democracy according to the whim of those who will not relax their absolute hold on the neck of the weak citizen?
What about AD? This party has managed to absorb enough votes to deprive the 2 giants from an absolute majority in spite of the luxury of each possessing a television station.
I think the party should consult the people for more ideas. Go back to basics. Ask them what they want. I know! Questionnaires and all that, cost money! So it’s back to the cross roads. But think hard. Fly off at a tangent. Come out with something new.
