INQUIRY INTO INCIDENT INVOLVING THE VESSEL ‘SIMSHAR’

In terms of the Merchant Shipping Act, the Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Communication Austin Gatt today appointed Dr Anne Fenech as the inquiring officer in the shipping casualty involving the motor fishing vessel ‘Samsher’ (or as it has been reported to be named in the press ‘Simshar’).

The Minister instructed Dr Fenech to carry out a preliminary investigation into the matter in terms of Article 313 of the law and to make her recommendations in terms of article 314 of the same.
