HI

At Mater Dei, there’s a children’s ward called ‘Rainbow’. This is a ward for children who are suffering from cancer, unfortunately.

There’s going to be a book library for these children. Please, if you have some children’s books which you are not using and these are still in good condition, donate them to the Rainbow Ward’s library.

I think it’s a lovely idea to go and forward the books (and maybe a donation) personally. These families need all the help they can get.

The children’s books (in good condition) will help start a library in the ward. If anyone has any children’s books lying idly on the shelves, please pass them on. Who knows, they might help bring a ray of sunshine in these children’s lives.
You can also collect some money at work or in your group and donate it for these kids. They are our future.

Thank you

This is what a friend of mine commented ….

Last week I visited Rainbow to speak to someone re our donation, I couldn’t help seeing children who were patients there. There was a 12-year old walking with her mum, seemed as if she was perfectly fine, but of course she has cancer.

A mummy came up to me and told me she recognized me from two years back, when we both had our kids with Gastrointeritis for a week in hospital. However, two years later, her 9-year old daughter is undergoing chemo, and she’s
awaiting to have the bone in her arm and hand replaced because of the tumour!!!

I felt sick. I felt I was gonna throw up. I really felt sick in there - it was very hard to swallow!

You can’t help feeling the sadness in those parents’ faces - the pain -!!

BY NO MEANS AM I OBLIGING YOU TO GIVE BOOKS OR DONATIONS !!!
AFTER ALL WE ALL HAVE OUR LIVES AND DIFFICULTIES. BUT IF IT IS POSSIBLE, IT WOULD BE GREAT TO HELP OUT !!!

I always try to imagine what I could be thinking and needing if I were to be in these people’s shoes !!

THANKS
