For more than 13 years the ‘Shaolin Kung Fu Monks’ have attracted worldwide attention with their breathtaking show. In more than 2000 performances in front of an audience of more than 3 million the visitors could see for themselves that the Zen Buddhists from Shaolin are capable of overriding the laws of physics by mere concentration and to develop nearly superhuman forces.
The world’s most successful Kung Fu show presents the mystical incredible Powers of the masters of the Shaolin Kung Fu from the Province of Henan.
A powerful, impressive and peaceful show, demonstrating how the body can be controlled by mind power. A show not only for those interested in martial arts, but also for those interested in China, for esoteric fans and for the whole family.
Commissioned by the Government of the Chinese Province where the monastery lies, the monks have been traveling around the world to show the spectators the mastering of the body in ultimate perfection.
The show tells the story of the monastery. 1500 years ago, the Indian Monk Tamo founded Zen Buddhism there. He taught the monks the perfect control of the body through meditation and by mimicking the movements of animals. Over the centuries of the history of the monasteries the soldier monks served the Emperors and defended the empire and the monastery. Shaolin Kung Fu is the mother of all martial arts world wide.
The traditional exercises of the monks have been newly adapted in a fascinating two hour show with special music being added to it. In addition the show is complimented by a sumptuous light show, an authentic stage design and a new choreography. The fascination of external power resulting from the inner calmness and the rate and perfection of the execution of the exercises consistently captivate audiences world wide. Never before has Kung Fu been performed in such a way.
The monks of Shaolin Kung Fu are masters in controlling their Chi, the body’s imminent energy which moves along the meridians of every human being. In years of meditation, they’ve learnt to move their Chi to any desired part of the body. Thus they are able to become temporarily insensitive to pain and to suspend the laws of physics known to us.
The monks can endure incredible strokes actually without physical injuries or wounds. It is the reality that fascinates the audience time and time again.
The combination of each Shaolin show is the entrance of the only 7 year old Monk apprentice and of the venerable 85 year old grand master Shi Wancheng, who radiates the dignity and wisdom of a life dedicated to Kung Fu. Childhood Kung Fu is the name of the exercise proving that the control of the body is not a question of age, if one only practices consistently.
The monks have performed to more than twelve and a half million spectators during more than two thousand performances on four continents in some of the largest halls in the world and most intimate theatres with their unbelievable and fascinating Shaolin Kung Fu.
Hundreds of promoters on four continents, from Broadway in New York to Lima in Peru, from Sydney to Los Angels, from Mexico to Berlin and from London to Vienna will confirm the enthusiastic response on the part of the public and the media.
There are many imitations but only one original!
