Zminjietna to hold Public debate on the future of the Left

The latest issue of quarterly review Zminijietna has been published. The review deals with a number of socio-political themes from leftist perspectives.

The leading article of Zminijietna is Michael Briguglio€ ¦’²s analysis of the Malta Labour Party€ ¦’²s defeat in the general elections. Other opinion pieces include David Pisani on ecological socialism; Victor Degiovanni on pseudo-intellectuals and the general election; James Debono on lessons from the Italian elections; Alfred Consiglio on capitalism today, Louis Grech on the Labour Party and Freedom Day; A. Pert on how the Left can be effective, and the third part of an analysis of ethical public procurement in Malta by Nina Zita.

The review also includes various statements and news concerning Zminijetna - Voice of the Left and Zminijietna Left Youth. The review also includes a write-up of the recent public debate organised by Zminijietna on workers and the general election.

Public Debate on future of the Left

In the meantime, Zminijietna € ¦’¶ Voice of the Left shall be organising a public debate on the future of the Left Saturday 31st May at 60A, Strait Street, Valletta, at 10am. The debate shall be chaired by journalist James Debono and shall have a round table format. In addition to speakers from Zminijietna, other speakers confirmed so far include Desmond Zammit Marmara’, Dr Carmel Borg, Dr Carmen Sammut, Stephen Cachia (Alternattiva Demokratika), Aaron Farrugia, Anna Zammit, Ray Fabri, Marco Briffa, Dr Keith Grech and others.
