Mr Speaker meets the Hungarian Ambassador

The Hon. Anton Tabone, Speaker of the House of Representatives, received at his Chambers H.E. Mr Miklos Merenyi, Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary.

Discussions focused on the existing friendly relations between the two countries and the identification of new areas of cooperation, particularly at the parliamentary level.

Ambassador Merenyi underlined the importance of continuous bilateral exchanges on European issues and informed Mr Tabone of the existing commercial and economic bilateral opportunities in various sectors.

Mr Tabone briefed Mr Merenyi on the House of Representatives’s activities at the international level, highlighting the importance of the Mediterranean dimension.

He mentioned Malta’s initiative towards the setting up of a Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean and the hosting of its Secretariat in Malta.
