As you may already know, files created with the latest version of
Microsoft Office 2007 (Word, Excel & PowerPoint 2007) are by default
saved in a different file format with a filename extension “.docx”,
“.xlsx” or “.pptx”.

Users of previous versions of Microsoft Office may not be able to open
these files. If you use Office 2000, XP & 2003, you are encouraged to
install the Office Compatibility Pack so that you would be able to open
Office 2007 files. This pack is available for download at:

http://www.its.um.edu.mt/go/officepack

If on the other hand you are using the latest version of Office and
would like to ensure that the document you are working on can easily be
opened and edited by colleagues who may not be using the latest version,
you have the option to save the document in .Office 97 - Office 2003.
file format and share that with your colleagues.

Do contact us if you have queries.
