The all-new L200 represents Mitsubishi Motors’ take at a contemporary European one-tonne pickup: crossing over the rugged attributes of a pickup truck with the expected design, comfort and safety features of a modern SUV, it will offer a format well suited to a crowded and demanding European environment.
The heir of sixty years of pickups and seventy years of 4×4 technology at Mitsubishi, the new L200 will build on the success of its predecessor. In a European market where an ever-expanding choice is offered to potential customers with new concepts and niches being explored by all manufacturers, the pickup represents an attractive option.
L200’s customers will benefit from the six decades of expertise and market observation Mitsubishi Motors enjoyed when it started the development of their new truck.
Under the Sport Utility Truck (SUT) banner, the L200 aims at broadening the appeal of pickups in Europe with a stylish vehicle that remains a pickup through and through – with all the expected ruggedness and utility – but also meet customers’ demands for a further type of SUV in terms of dynamics and safety.
Available in Single Cab, Club Cab and four-door Double Cab body types – the new L200 does continue the tradition established since the first L200 in 1978, that of a well designed AND tough vehicle for both work and leisure activities, on-road and off-road.
Suggested by its exterior design, the L200 moves away from the bargain-basement features Europeans may have in mind when it comes to pickups, whilst remaining within the sensible limits of a car tailored for Europe.
