   Almost one-third of the world’s species will face extinction if greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise, a United Nations report said this week. Addressing the UN’s climate panel, Yvo de Boer, the head of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, said to leaders that “failure to recognize the urgency of this message and to act on it would be nothing less than criminally irresponsible.”
