On 31 October 2007, Malta’s Permanent Representative to the European Union, Mr Richard Cachia Caruana, attended the 2203^rd meeting of the Permanent Representatives Committee Part II.

In the margins of COREPER, a Mixed Committee Meeting was held.  The Mixed Committee discussed the following items:

a)       Provision of wide area networking and associated security services for the Schengen Information System (ref. : 2007/S54-065961)

                            

b)      Proposals for a Council Decision and a Council Regulation on the installation, operation and management of a Communication Infrastructure for the Schengen Information System (SIS) environment

         

 

A meeting with Mr Joe Borg, Commissioner responsible for Fisheries and Maritime Affairs, was also held in the margins of COREPER.
