The fourth hotel from actor and entrepreneur Vikram Dream NY is a city hotel with it all. Occupying a renovated, 1895 beaux-arts building in New York City’s Upper West Side, all 208 guestrooms and 20 suits boast haute details – 300 thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets, pre-loaded iPods, Bose radios and 37-inch plasma television screens. David LaChapelle was called in to create a lobby, which perhaps goes some way to explaining the presence of a statue of Catherine the Great in Mongolian costume, and a pirate-ship crystal chandelier. Dream has no shortage of facilities, with Serafina, a theatrical Fellini-inspired restaurant that serves upscale Italian cuisine, and Epernay and Lobby Bar, a vibrant space designed by architect Mark Zeff, as well as a glamorous, retro-inspired rooftop lounge, Ava, named after movie star Ava Gardner. Ava offers incredible panoramic views of Times Square and the Hudson River, while below ground, the Chopra Center and Spa, provides personalised massages and facials, meditation and yoga from alternative health guru Deepak Chopra.
