OFFICIAL VISIT TO MALTA BY H.E. MR LUCIEN WEILER, SPEAKER OF THE CHAMBER OF DEPUTIES OF THE GRAND DUCHY OF LUXEMBOURG

H.E. Mr Lucien Weiler, President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, will be paying an official visit to Malta between the 16^th and 18^th September 2007.

Mr Weiler will be reciprocating the visit paid to Luxembourg by Hon Anton Tabone, Speaker of the House of Representatives in November 2005. Mr Weiler will be accompanied by Mr Claude Frieseisen, Secretary General of the Chamber of Deputies of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

Mr Weiler and Mr Frieseisen will be meeting with Hon Anton Tabone, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and will call on H.E. Dr Edward Fenech Adami, President of Malta and the Hon Dr Lawrence Gonzi, Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and the Hon. Dr. Alfred Sant, Leader of Opposition. The meetings are expected to focus on issues of common concern and on the identification of areas of cooperation between the two countries.

Mr Weiler’s visit will contribute towards strengthening the already friendly relations between the two countries, particularly enhancing relations between the parliamentary institutions in both countries.
