NEW HONORARY CONSULS FOR MALTA APPOINTED IN WALES AND NORTHERN IRELAND
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has today informed the Malta High Commission in London that Sir Brooke Charles Boothby has been recognised as Honorary Consul for Malta in Wales and Mr. Tom Kelly OBE as Honorary Consul in Belfast and Northern Ireland.
Sir Brooke Boothby of Fonmon Castle, Barry, received his education at Eton College and the University of Cambridge and is a director of Tourism Quality Services and sole owner of Fonmon Castle Estate. He has extensive experience in the tourism and leisure markets and has held and holds senior industry posts in the United Kingdom. He has assisted the post-apartheid government in South Africa to set up its tourism industry and chaired the company that oversaw tourism quality control for the Republic of Ireland Government.
Mr. Tom Kelly OBE was educated at the Abbey School, Newry and holds a BSc (Hons) in Communications and a post-graduate degree in marketing from the University of Ulster and is currently a director of the University Foundation Board. He is a member of the Northern Ireland Policing Board and in May 2006 was awarded an OBE in recognition of his public service. Mr. Kelly is the major shareholder and CEO of Stakeholder Communications, one of Northern Ireland’s leading PR agencies and recognised as one of the leading public relations and political advisors in Britain and Ireland.
