This Friday 3 August four young bands have teamed up for a highly anticipated music event. POXX ON THE ROCKS will feature no less than 4 bands - the classic rock of Drive, the jazzy blues-rock of Wilted, the sublime acoustic sounds of Mystifed and the improvised ventures of Dynamic Fudge.

CAROLINE AND ERIKA (aka known as Mystified) have known each other for several years. In fact they started performing together at school during numerous school concerts. After several achievements on an individual basis, Caroline and Erika teamed up again aiming for a successful music career. Caroline and Erika feel that ‘a guitar and a voice is all it takes’ and that is exactly what they want to prove by performing several unplugged sessions together! Their repertoire is mainly focused upon well-known covers. However, there are a couple of originals in the process! At the moment Caroline and Erika are preparing for the upcoming gig - POXX ON THE ROCKS. Moreover, they have been chosen as finalists for the Virtual Rockstar radio competition. www.myspace.com/mystified02

Blues, Jazz, Rock: WILTED have dipped their fingers into all these musical genres, and the result is an exciting fusion of various styles. Line-up consist of Nick Mamo on Bass, Dan Buttigieg on Drums, Fabian Bonello on the Sax, Paul Torpiano on synth, Mike Stivala on Lead Guitar and Gianluca Bezzina with the main vocals. They’ve played at many events together: Slashed 2006 at Ryan’s Irish Pub, Saint Aloysius Battle of the Bands 2007 (3rd Place) and Sacfest 2007, and the experience has helped make them a strong, tight, creative band.

Naming DYNAMIC FUDGE’s style is pointless. They just play. They get up there, do their thing, and enjoy themselves. Improvisation is the key here, with soloing from every member of the band, be it Giancarlo Torpiano on Lead Guitar, his brother Paul on synth, Nick Mamo on Bass, Joe Axiak on drums or Fabian Bonello on sax. Let’s not forget their 2 main vocalists, Mark Galea and Gabe Galea, who share the singing load between them.. Experience includes a gig at Caraffa Vaults and a memorable jamming night at Sacfest 2007. Beethoven and his friends might not have approved of their unrehearsed ventures, but Jimi Hendrix sure would’ve loved the result.

DRIVE was born in January 2007, when Peter, Ivan and Tinu who had been in another band (Unstable) for about 3 years decided to leave to form a new band with a new style. They met singer Matthew who was at the time searching for a band with their style, joined soon after by long-time friend Jonas as second guitarist. Lately drummer Tinu decided to leave Malta for a year to continue his studies and has been replaced by Raphael - an energetic drummer with a huge passion for classic rock. Their main focus is writing origonals.with classic rock roots but with a modern touch. Songwriting duties are shared by the entire band thereby keeping the results as varied as possible. Drive are currently working on more material and will record some new tracks. Covers consits of works from Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Krokus, ACDC, Scorpions, Motley Crue, Guns n’ Roses and other classic legends. www.myspace.com/driveonline
