Maltese High Commissioner to India presents credentials
Malta’s High Commissioner to India, Wilfred Kenely, recently presented his credentials to the President of India, Dr Abdul Kalam. The ceremony, which was held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the monumental Presidential Palace in New Delhi, was one of the last official engagements of Dr Kalam as President of India. Dr Kalam will step down on the 25th July, having been in office for five years.
High Commissioner Kenely will be the first resident Maltese High Commissioner in New Delhi, as Malta establishes itself in India, a country which is being considered as a fast-growing and emerging global economic power.
Following the presentation ceremony, High Commissioner Kenely met President Kalam where he conveyed warm greetings from the government and the people of Malta. During the meeting, President Kalam and High Commissioner Kenely discussed the benefits that this new representation will bring about for the two countries.
