ARACHNID CD launch – “COMPELLED TO DISTORT”
Local extreme metal band “ARACHNID” are about to
launch their second release, a full length album with
the title “COMPELLED TO DISTORT”. It will be launched
on the 7th July at Poxx bar in paceville. Doors open
at 9.00p.m.

It is important to note that the 50c addition on all
the event / merchandise prices entitle entrees to a
free drink, usually costing 75c. This offer, as in
all other events, is there to warm up things from the
start. Poxx bar has extremely competitive prices,
such as 75c for spirits, Lm1 for doubles, and Lm3 for
a (12) shooter tray.
The album contains 13 tracks, namely -

The album shall also include a video of the song
“Complusive Sadistic Mauling”. Credit goes to Oliver
our bassist who did the video editing. The sleeve
design was done by Stephan our drummer. An mp3 from
the album is going to be available on the website
www.myspace.com/arachniddeath at the end of June.
The launch shall feature a powerful setlist including
most of the album and a Cannibal Corpse favourite.
For those who have never seen ARACHNID live, they are
a band whose genre of extreme music falls under Death
Metal and includes traits of Brutal Death, Death
Grind, Grindcore, etc. They always offer a good show
in terms of brutality, musicianship and tightness.
ARACHNID shall be supported by KTINODIA. These
Grindcore deathsters made their live debut in 2004 and
released a demo ‘Dying in Phases’ in March of the same

ARACHNID have been in existence since 1996 and have
participated in 21 gigs including three festivals and
three dates abroad. This shall be their second release
following a demo CD “Weaving the web” released in
2005.
This summer ARACHNID shall also be participating in
the MALTAUPDHORNS festival which is going to be held
on the 18th August at the ‘Gibjun’ in Zurrieq
featuring 9 local bands .
The band are quite happy with the studio recording
(www.devilsbasement.com) since the sound quality is as
good as desired. They are also looking forward to the
launch date since for them it is both important and
long-awaited, being their first full-length album
release. While thanking all those involved with the
making of the album and its launch, the band would
like to invite all the extreme metal followers to
attend this gig and assure them that with the entrance
and bar offers it will be well worth it. So see you
there to witness a vile and vicious onslaught on the
senses!!
