L-Ghonnella is situated in the grounds of Palazzo Spinola, named after the nearby bay. Dining at L-Ghonnella offers a certain tranquility that comes from being surrounded by historic architecture, and, in summer, beautiful gardens.
The restaurant is situated in the cellars during the winter months, where the atmosphere is comfortable, warm and intimate. The busy roads of St. Julian’s fade away to be replaced by the gentle sounds of the garden’s fountains as you approach the entrance, preparing you for a memorable dining experience.
The original menu with a Maltese slant, is carefully designed by a Master Chef who spoils you for choice. Highlights are the delicious rabbit, the Maltese mezze platter, the baked quail and the mango stuffed chicken in exotic sauce.
Booking for Easter Sunday lunch is recommended.
