Re: Database Move
Hi Lee, I tried following very involved step in moving database from the LCS_2005_SP1_Deploy_EE.doc (page 45)… Backup your LCS database. (if the servers are being totally removed, create a new server with the same name and instance as the cluster you were using before) then restore the database.

Re: open dao dbsnapot in password protected database
database). \ Problem is that both the server and local database files are database password protected (database password NOT user-level password security). I cannot figure out how to open the databases if they have a database password. Any ideas? Thanks! Mike

Re: Omit Database from Backup
Yes I am using a maintenance plan. I have 3 database one that is the old one that we converted from to our new custom program, the live database and a test database. I only want to backup the live database not the other two. In the properties I don’t see a place where I can choose which database I am backing up.

Re: Stupid Database Tricks
The problem is not that the key values aren’t unique within a single extension of the database, it is that a key value may identify one object in the universe in one extension and a different object in another. Or a specific database value or instance? Database instance or state or value would therefore be synonymous.

Re: Copy database question
If I use BACKUP/RESTORE, when restoring, is it possible to restore it to a different database name so that it does not override the original database ? Yes. If I use BACKUP/RESTORE, when restoring, is it possible to restore it to a different database name so that it does not override the original database ?
