Life At The Extreme chronicles the daring feats of competitors in the world’s premier ocean race. A 31,350 nautical-mile endurance test around the globe under sail. A challenge which pushes competitors to the brink, to that precarious point where one error or unseen hazard could deliver drastic consequences.

This was not a threat Volvo Ocean Race sailors faced just once; it was ever-present over months of competition, in the most hostile conditions nature can muster. This year the contest drew headlines not only for unprecedented ocean sailing records, but also for the sinking of one of the boats, and the death of an accomplished crew member.
