Strategic Thrusts

Rackoff, Wiseman and Ullrich (1985) expanded Porter’s work on competitive strategies to offer a more comprehensive model of industry competition. (see ch 2)

The model is called the Strategic Option Generator. It identifies five things that an organisation can do and three targets that those things can be applied to. These are placed in the following grid which can be filled in from an e-business perspective.
