NAVMAN 7110 DSC VHF radio and command mic

It is a small set so it would fit well on small boats, but the radio can only be switched on at the fixed set, and the backlighting of the fixed set’s keys were very poor. It is the only set where you have to confirm your MMSI when you first enter it.

It is a good feature as it prevents people from going back to the dealer to reset the password if you enter the wrong password. The VHF functions are good and you can return a missed DSC call from the log. This is an excellent feature.

The guard over the distress button opens only by 45 degrees and when entering data you cannot enter 0 without entering 1 first and then scrolling back. The 7110 command mic the operating logic and display were the same as the radio.

With the exception of the Distress Alert button, the handset keys are disabled until the handset is lifted from its holder. The backlighting of the keys were fine, the distress button guard opened fully and was easy to use but the audio quality was not as good.
