Sources of environmental information

The temptation to ignore this information is understandable as managers give priority to short-term issues relating to immediate production. Environmental information is not easily quantified, and is therefore hard to assimilate.

Environmental information services is necessary. In a large company, this is done in the strategic planning department. In a small company everyone involved should be on the lookout for relevant information changes.

Sources of environmental information include newspapers, trade journals, government publications and databases.

It is not easy to ensure that relevant environmental information is acted upon especially if it is not a high priority issue.
